” Tell me and I forget.
Teach me and I remember.
Involve me and I learn.”

– Benjamin Franklin

Bergen County Audubon Society enjoys connecting people with birds and nature.  Birding is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, you’ll learn to appreciate birds and nature while connecting with new people that share similar interests.  Studies have shown that nature provides many health benefits, both physical and mental.  This bodes true for young and old alike.  All of our field trips, events and programs are free and everyone is invited to join us, no prior birding experience needed.

Birding for Beginners

Bergen County Audubon Society offers several opportunities throughout the year to attend our beginners classes.  During each class, you’ll learn about field guides, optics and bird identification.  A walk will follow each class. Bring binoculars if you have them. Come discover
the wonderful world of birding with us! Sign up for our weekly email to keep you abreast of our
upcoming field trips, programs, events and more.
